Polycrystalline diamond (PCD) is a kind of polycrystalline diamond sintered at high temperature (1400 C) and high pressure (6000 MPa) by mixing micron diamond powder with a small amount of metal powder (such as cobalt). Compared with other cutting tool materials, PCD has the characteristics of high hardness and wear resistance, high thermal conductivity, low thermal expansion coefficient, low friction coefficient, fast heat dissipation, low cutting temperature, small thermal deformation and small surface roughness. The letter S. The common grinding processes of PCD tools include mechanical grinding of diamond grinding wheel, discharge grinding and electrolytic grinding. The particle size, concentration and bond of the diamond grinding wheel have a great influence on the quality and efficiency of the PCD tool sharpening. Therefore, the correct choice of grinding wheel is very important. The grinding rate per minute supplied by Glory Diamond Tools is 20 to 30 times that of the ordinary diamond grinding wheel. Under the premise of meeting the processing quality requirements, we should try to choose the grinding wheel with larger granularity.

After selecting the grinding wheel, the grinding wheel needs to be balanced. First, place the wheel balancer on the mirror table for calibration. Adjust the balance baffles in the balancer to the center by adjusting the three balance nuts on the bottom of the balancer. Then slide the grinding wheel into the grinding wheel adjustment rod and adjust the three balance screws on the side of the grinding wheel to make them evenly distributed until the balance blisters in the balancer are in the center again, and the grinding wheel is balanced.

We should clamp and adjust the PCD tools by swing center and optical center. In order to ensure the machining accuracy requirements of PCD tools, all sharpening dimensions should be completed in one setup. During grinding PCD tools, all wear should be removed. In order to make full use of the grinding ability of the grinding wheel and prevent the occurrence of groove marks, the grinding wheel swing amplitude should be selected according to the PCD tool size.
